OUR WORK – INNOVATE, EDUCATE, ENABLE…
PSBT seeks to cultivate discourse, create content and establish systems and practices that facilitate public access to the electronic media. We aim to create and sustain a credible space for truly independent, participatory, pluralistic, representative public service broadcasting, distanced from commercial imperatives and political pressures.
Our endeavours include:
- Independent Documentary Films on a rich and wide range of socio-economic, political issues and themes including Freedom, Diversity, Gender, Environment, Conflict, HIV/ AIDS, Democracy, Sexuality, Literature, Livelihood, Globalisation, Urbanscapes, Re-Visioning India, Arts and Crafts and Culture and Tradition, among others.
- Media Advocacy to significantly impact the agendas of Public Broadcasting in India.
- Independent Film Fellowships with enhanced funding in partnership with Prasar Bharati, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Public Diplomacy Division, Ministry of External Affairs.
- Annual International Film Festival and Forum of Reality and Documentary Films, the Open Frame.
