DOCUMENTARY FILM COMPETITION ON SWAMI VIVEKANANDA

SRI RAMAKRISHNA MATH AND RAMAKRISHNA MISSION VIVEKANANDA COLLEGE, MYLAPORE, CHENNAI
 
Sri Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College in Chennai are jointly conducting a Documentary Film Competition on Swami Vivekananda for Students/Youth on the occasion of “National Youth Day”, 12th January, the birthday of Swami Vivekananda.
 

PRIZES
First prize of Rs 50,000/-
Two Second prizes of Rs 25,000/- each
Four Third prizes of Rs 10,000/- each


All participants would be given Participation Certificates and a copy of Swami Vivekananda Life, Works & Research at the conclusion of the Competition.


TOPICS

The Documentary can be either in Tamil or English. Candidates can choose any one of the following topics:

Swami Vivekananda and the Regeneration of India
Swami Vivekananda for the Youth
Swami Vivekananda and the Ideal of Service


BOOKS FOR REFERENCE
Lectures from Colombo to Almora
Personality Development
My India, the India Eternal


Any other books, published by Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai & Advaita Ashrama, Kolkata, can be selected & ordered online.

NOTE: PARTICIPANTS OF OTHER STATES MAY GET THESE BOOKS FROM CENTRES LOCATED IN ALL METROPOLIS AND MAJOR STATE CAPITALS.

 

RIGHTS OF THE MATH

a. The Math will enjoy the copyrights of all films received for the competition and use the same in any way it deems fit.
b. The OrganiSers can reject any applications without citing any reasons whatsoever.
c. Decision of the Judges shall be final.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS

a. There is no entrance fee.
b. The Competition is open to all students/youth below 30 years of age.
c. The film should be original and should not be a copy or collected video clippings of the films produced in our centres or elsewhere. This, however, does not include photographs.
d. It should be of 15 minutes duration and should be in DVD/Mpeg 2 format.
e. It should not merely be a collection of sayings of Swami Vivekananda, but rather it should show your innovative and original thinking on the subject you choose to venture. In short, it should reflect your deep understanding and knowledge about Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and it is expected to bring out the high points of the subject. It should be preferably of fresh shoot and can be in the nature of outdoor or indoor shooting/ drama/skit and not necessarily be an enactment of life incidents of the Swamiji.
f. Keeping our holy traditions in view, the film should not have any objectionable / controversial matter.
g. The Producer may be an individual or a team of not more than 4 members.
h. A team or individual can send any number of documentaries.
i. All costs regarding production shall be borne by the participants.
