PSBT is committed to making the electronic media accessible and utilising the immense power of the audio-visual medium for advocacy and engaging with crucial civil society concerns.
Taking its media advocacy initiatives a step further, PSBT has created a set of Discussion Guides that aim to create awareness and stimulate vital communication on a range of issues raised by its films. The Guides explore and enquire into the socio-economic, cultural and political contexts of specific practices, traditions and realities in the country. They create discourses that attempt to understand and unravel everyday experiences and interrogate their structural bases.
Discussion Guides have been created to accompany two series of films: Experiences with Gender, Reproductive Rights and Health and Women in Leadership Roles. While addressing the primary themes of the films, the Guides encourage critical thought on issues that affect our lived realities and negotiations. They act as catalysts to dialogue and conversations, especially in the Indian context. As important resources, the Guides facilitate post-screening discussions and can be of particular significance to NGOs, educational institutions and other groups and individuals engaged in advocacy.
