K. N. T. Sastry, a well-known film critic turned filmmaker, received the National Award as Best Film Critic in 1989. His documentary film ‘Surabhi,’ received the National Award for the Best Anthropological, Ethnographic Documentary in 1999. His debut feature film has also been critically acclaimed and won several awards.
